Welcome

AIM TRiO Talent Search is a college preparatory program federally funded by the Department of Education. The goal of the program is to guide students towards success in middle school, successful graduation from high school and college. The AIM TRiO Talent Search students are selected based on government requirements, including first generation collegian status and income guidelines. AIM is an Omaha-based, innovative not-for-profit community organization that grows, connects and inspires the tech talent ecosystem.

After school programs are designed in collaboration with grant staff, Bryan Middle School administrators, counselors, and teachers to meet the specific needs of Bryan students.  The grant sponsors after school classes, taught by Bryan Middle School teachers, that will help students improve their performance, discover career opportunities, and prepare early for a successful college experience.  


AIM TRIO Talent Search after-school sessions will begin on October 4, 2016.

Participation in the program is free of cost!

 

Session One - October 4, 2016 through December 15, 2016
No Class on October 18 & 20, 2016, due to conferences. No Class on November 22, 2016

 Session Two - January 17, 2017 through April 27, 2017 

Students who are provided OPS bus transportation to and from 
Bryan Middle School 
will be eligible to ride the late bus. 

The late bus will drop your student at his/her neighborhood school.

PROGRAMS

Bear BYTES - Room 218 - 

TUESDAYS  

3:15 pm – 5:00 pm   
Staff - Mrs. Holguin & Ms. Korth

Interested in technology?  Whether you are an expert or a beginner, Bear BYTES is the class for you!  Want to learn about web pages, hardware and software?  Are you interested in coding and Ozobots?  Interested in learning about Technology Careers?  Every student is expected to bring homework to each session. Students will receive help, when needed, specific to his/her individual assignments during each session. A snack will be served.  

College & Careers  - Room 218 -  WEDNESDAYS 3:15 pm – 5:00 pm  
Staff - Ms. Korth & Ms. Galles

Planning your future is in YOUR hands.  Explore motivating and interactive college planning websites that are designed to provide you and your family with the tools needed for making college a part of your future.  Participate in mock interviews, fill out trial job applications, and learn how to write resumes.  Every student is expected to bring homework to each session. Students will receive help, when needed, specific to his/her individual assignments during each session. A snack will be served.

Science Rocks!  - Room 218 - THURSDAYS 3:15 pm – 5:00 pm
Staff - Ms. Argo & Ms. Galles

An interactive look at science. Learn science process skills and the nature of science through hands-on activities including, exciting experiments and demonstrations. Participants will be engaged and excited about the amazing world of science that surrounds us.  Every student is expected to bring homework to each session. Students will receive help, when needed, specific to his/her individual assignments during each session. A snack will be served.
