Ms. Pedersen - Social Studies

Ms. Pedersen is the lucky mom of 3 great kids, two girls and a boy, and love a gigantic man who looks like Shrek but is not green!  I have been teaching for 21 years and have been at Bryan Middle for 12 of those years.  I love South Omaha's pride and heritage.  I am from Council Bluffs, but also lived in Boston for 3 years when I was in high school.  


I love social studies, history, writing, trivia, Harry Potter, science, and math if I am dealing with money.  I am not fancy at all!  I am happiest with my family, gardening, singing, crafting, and learning new things.  I am currently learning to play the piano.  I will always be your biggest fan, and if you need help you only have to ask.

What is Social Studies?

7th grade social studies covers the people, geography, and history of the Eastern Hemisphere.  This includes S.W. Asia, Africa, China, Japan, and Russia.  During this year we will explore culture as it relates to all of these areas.
