Welcome to the Scientific Inquiry Page!
Examine problems using scientific inquiry.
Integrate unifying concepts and processes in science experiences.
Students will be able to identify and develop questions that can be answered through scientific investigation.
Students will be able to design and conduct appropriate types of scientific investigations to answer developed questions.
Students will identify independent, dependent variables and constant variables when designing an experiment.
Students will be able to design a hypothesis using an "if, then" statement to answer designed question incorporating the independent and dependent variables.
Students will develop charts and/or graphs to record data.
Students will use mathematical operations to analyze and interpret data.
Students will identify and present relationshipd between variables using charts and/or graphs.
Students will draw conclusions and identify sources of error, as well as provide explanations to investigated problems/questions.
Students will be able to communicate results of their investigations using appropriate lab report format using relevant science vocabulary, supporting evidence and clear logic.
Students will be able to identify, restate and demonstrate correct lab safety rules throughout the year.
Students will identify and describe the name and purpose for each lab tool.
Students will use appropriate tools and techniques to make observations and gather data while conducting experiments throughout the year.
